This morning I couldn’t sleep so I went to the Fish Market at 4:30am. As soon as you get near it, the smell of the fish hits you. We walked down busy streets where market owners prepared to either sell or buy fish. There were buildings to sell live fish and buildings where frozen fish was sold. The tuna were auctioned off. Do you know what people do at an auction? I got video of some of it. The sound of the man in charge of the auction was amazing. He spoke so fast and almost danced as he spoke. When he was done selling all of the fish, he took his hat off and bowed. This is me, stopping to have a snack.Eating Tuna

And yes, it is a real tail – from a tuna. They are huge. Here is another picture of me at the market. Can you tell what I am trying to get a photo of?shooting-at-the-market.jpg

I will post photos tomorrow but for now I’m going to go to sleep a little bit early. I am going with a small group on a bus to spend the day near Mount Fuji tomorrow. It is our one day off. We won’t be able to climb up Mount Fuji because it is too cold and there is a risk of avalanches. We are hoping to take a cable car ride to the top of a nearby mountain and maybe go on a boat ride on a lake. We might hike and kayak. We won’t be able to do everything but at least we’ll see some part of Mount Fuji up a little closer.

I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. Make sure you write.

PS I’m on the 18th floor.
