Packed and ready to go

Filed under: All packed —— lindasantoro @ 1:23 am

Today I spent the day packing and shopping. These are some of the things I packed (with a lot of helpful advice from my students):
ipod – of course
journal and pens
books to read
snacks
plenty of clothes
warm clothes, comfortable clothes, comfortable shoes, hiking/running sneakers, coats, socks, sleepwear, all the important stuff
kleenex – for many uses
medicines and bandaids
toothbrush and tooth paste
hair brush
camera
video camera
laptop
batteries
wires to charge everything
an adapter for the different electrical outlets
photos of friends, family and students
gifts for people I meet
money so I can bring back artifacts to show everyone
cards – business and playing cards

I didn’t have room for a thermos or pillow. I loved those ideas though. Hopefully I can get water or a pillow on the plane when I need it. Hopefully.

It is around 1:30 am. I am going to try to get about two hours of sleep before I have to get up and get ready to go catch my plane. Actually I guess it’s closer to only one hour of sleep.

Good Luck! I’m a middle school social studies teacher who just randomly came across your blog. It is a long flight. Last year I visited China and that one was 14 hours!
Have fun. If you would like to stay in touch with our class it would be fun. Our class blog is a http://hetherington0607.learnerblogs.org

I loved reading what you packed. You will have to take a big suitcase! If it’s not too late I would suggest you take a copy of The Glastonbury Citizen with you. When my mom worked there she started “Where in the World” is the Glastonbury Citizen feature. I thought it would be fun for you to take a photo of you and the paper in Japan! have a great adventure. love, Emma
